Pasadena – Los Angeles, California
A well known and fun parody of the Rose Parade that has been going strong for over 34 years, the Doo Dah Parade, following much the same route as the original Rose Parade, is filled with “wild and wacky floats” that are known for their somewhat harmless bad taste, irreverent fun and political satire with dozens of odd-ball floats and parade participants. Pease Park – Austin, Texas
Marking a birthday that has been celebrated for more than 50 years in Austin, Texas, Eeyore’s Birthday Party at Pease District Park is a “fun” fund raiser event in the name of the famous depressed donkey character in A. A. Milne's Winnie-the-Pooh stories. Apart from just having fun, the aim of the day-long party is to collect money for non-profit groups in Austin. Twins Day Festival
Every year, Twinsburg (population 17,000) greets the largest gathering of twins in the world. When the festival celebrated its birth back in 1976, it was hard to imagine it would grow to welcome nearly 3,000 sets of twins as it does today. It doesn’t stop there, either; triplets, quadruplets and quintuplets have also graced the festival with their presence. This festival is known to be the greatest in the world where its patrons are guaranteed to see double (and sometimes triple).

BatFest and Night of the Bat
Congress Avenue Bridge – Austin, Texas
One of the most unusual events in the USA, the annual Austin Bat Fest and Night of The Bat features more than 2-million Mexican free tail bats emerging from under the bridge at between 7 and 8pm for their nightly flight that can last at least half and hour. The event also includes 2 stages of live music, and more than 80 different arts & crafts displays, food, drinks, children's activities, a “bat” costume contest, and “bat” activities.

Black Rock Desert, Nevada
Nevada is the host to one of the country’s (or world’s) biggest counterculture festivals every year. Cow Chip Throw
Prairie du Sac, Wisconsin
They were once used by early settlers as fuel for cooking and heating, now flattened, dried cow manure – or cow chips – are the focal point of this event and some 40,000 people attend The Wisconsin State Cow Chip Throw each year (the current record throw is 248 feet). The festivities also include two stages of free entertainment, arts and crafts fair, 5K & 10K Runs, a parade and more.
