Southeast Regional Surfing Championships
Smyrna Beach, Florida
Hosted by the Eastern Surfing Association, the Southeast Regional Surfing Championships at the New Smyrna Beach Inlet attracts over 200 competitors to the resort area for four days of exciting surfing. The Eastern Surfing Association is the largest amateur surf organization in the United States.

East Coast Surfing Championships
Oceanfront – Virginia Beach, Virginia
Just one of the main surfing events in the USA, the 50th annual East Coast Surfing Championships event, North America’s oldest running surfing competition, held on the Virginia Beach Oceanfront features more than a hundred of the world's top surfers as they compete for large prizes in the region of $50,000. Other highlights of the free event include live music, volleyball, skateboarding, a 5K run along the oceanfront, and a swimsuit competition.

US Open of Surfing
Huntington Beach, California
One of the top 10 surfing events in the USA, this week-long surfing competition that attracts more than 500,000 people each year and which was first held in 1959. Now, the US Open of Surfing is the largest surfing competition in the world and has come to make Huntington Beach known as Surf City USA. As a result Huntington Beach is considered a West Coast surfing mecca and is home to various surfing competitions throughout the year.

One of the main surfing events in the USA, the Vans Triple Crown of Surfing is the world's elite series of professional surfing events that run from mid November through mid December in the ideal site of Oahu’s North Shore in Hawaii noted for amazing winter waves. The events include three major events for men and three events for women. For the men, those events are the Reef Hawaiian Pro at Haleiwa Ali'i Beach Park, the O'Neill World Cup of Surfing at Sunset Beach, and the Billabong Pipe Masters at the Banzai Pipeline. The women's events include the Vans Hawaiian Pro at Haleiwa Ali'i Beach Park, the Roxy Pro at Sunset Beach, and the Billabong Pro Maui which is actually held at Honolua Bay in Maui. The Vans Triple Crown of Surfing is second only to surfing's world title as it is considered the ultimate test of a surfer's ability to master the big waves at three unique venues – each with its own set of challenges.

ASP World Tour – Pipeline Masters
North Shore – Oahu, Hawaii
The Pipeline Masters, the biggest event in the world of surfing, and one of the top 10 surfing events in the USA, takes place at Ehukai Beach on Oahu's North Shore. The final event in the men's World Championship Tour, the Banzai Pipeline is a formidable tubed surfing break formed by the huge winter swells of the open ocean and driven south by the storm winds of the Aleutian Islands. “Banzai” was named over 60 years ago when the famous surf cinematographer Bruce Brown yelled "Banzai" as he watched a surfer negotiating one of the amazing waves the area is known for.

Quiksilver Eddie Aikau Memorial

Waimea Bay, North Shore – Oahu, Hawaii
The "Eddie" is one of the world's most prestigious big wave surfing contests held each year on the north shore of Hawaii in memory of one of the world's greatest watermen - Eddie Aikau. Eddie Aikau was a Hawaiian surfer lifeguard and expert in ocean safety who ironically and sadly lost his life while trying to save his fellow shipmates on an expedition in 1978.

Mavericks Big Wave Surf Competition
December to March
Half Moon Bay, California
At any time from the beginning of December to the end of March, and perhaps even on only 24 hours notice, the world’s greatest big-wave surfers descend upon the frigid waters of Half Moon Bay for the chance to ride "the most dangerous waves in the world." Mavericks is a winter destination for some of the world's premier big wave surfers, and the world-famous, invitation-only contest – the first was held in 1999 – is held here every winter, depending on wave conditions.
