Oregon Convention Center – Portland, Oregon
The Northwest’s premier chocolate festival, Chocolate Fest is a benefit for the World Forestry Center designed to educate and inform people about the world’s forests and trees, and how to protect and support this part of the environment. In only seven years, this event has become an important event to educate people about the tropical cacao tree and how chocolate is made. It now attracts more than 9,000 visitors to sample and savor some of the best chocolate that Portland has to offer.

Portland Jazz Festival
Lasting ten days and taking place in various venues across Portland, the largest city in Oregon, the Portland Jazz Festival is recognized as one of the most important jazz festivals in the USA and one of the main Oregon US events as well being heralded as top 20 Oregon USA events, festivals and fairs. Presenting internationally recognized and local musicians playing a wide-range of jazz styles, this festival also celebrates Black History Month, an annual remembrance of important people and events in the history of African Americans.

Newport Seafood & Wine Festival
Newport’s annual Seafood & Wine Festival offers samplings from many of Oregon’s 200 wineries, as well as dozens of food booths featuring local seafood specialties prepared by some of the finest chefs in the West. Artists from around the Northwest offer a variety of arts and crafts. This three-day event on the last full weekend in February has become a major Oregon Coast tradition.

Oregon Shakespeare Festival
February - July
Founded in 1935, the Tony Award-winning Oregon Shakespeare Festival (OSF) is among the oldest and largest professional nonprofit theatres in the nation. Each year OSF presents an eight-and-a-half-month season of eleven plays in three theatres plus numerous ancillary activities, and undertakes an extensive theatre education program. Operating on a budget exceeding $26 million, OSF presents more than 780 performances annually with attendance of approximately 400,000.

A tradition for more than 27 years, the Astoria Warrenton Crab and Seafood Festival is always on the last full weekend in April. Visitors to the event can enjoy live music from NW Bands, a great selection of seafood and other culinary delights (including the Rotary club’s traditional crab dinner), near 50 Oregon Wineries and about 100 booths filled with handmade arts and crafts.

Ashland Independent Film Festival
The only festival in the Northwest – and one of only 20 in the USA – selected to receive a prestigious grant from The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, the Ashland Independent Film Festival attracts filmmakers, actors, and documentary subjects to Ashland to showcase their work. This festival, a success of over a decade, takes place on the five screens of the intimate art-deco Varsity Theatre with special events at the Historic Ashland Armory.

Cinco De Mayo Fiesta
Waterfront Park – Portland, Oregon
A celebration of Mexican heritage and pride commemorating the victory of Mexican forces over the French occupational forces in 1862, the annual Cinco de Mayo Fiesta has been a popular event in Portland, Oregon for nearly 30 years and features Folklorico dancing, food, music, handcrafted artwork and a Mariachi Mass.

Portland Rose Festival

Midsummer Scandinavian Festival
A popular event for more than 40 years, the Midsummer Scandinavian Festival is a three-day celebration of Scandinavian traditions with dancing, music, food, trolls and colorful costumes that bring the old country heritage to life. Highlights of the fair include Miss Scandinavia, the Midnight Sun Scandinavian Breakfast, and the Troll Run, a stroll or run through the Olney Countryside, an Optog (walking parade) through downtown Astoria, and the popular Viking Feast.

Summer Kite Festival
Lincoln City, Oregon

Celtic Festival and Scottish Highland Games

Oregon State Fair
late August - early September
Through the years the Oregon State Fair has showcased Oregon crops and livestock, farm and even garden and floral exhibits, and horse racing, as well as exhibits of fine arts and photography, a wealth of popular entertainment including Lucha Libre (Hispanic wrestling), and a variety of food offerings including judging competitions. Portland Pirate Festival
St Helens and Portland, Oregon
A fun event for all the family whether under Portland's famous St. Johns Bridge or raiding the historic town of St. Helens, the Portland Pirate Festival turns the area into an old world full of pirates, privateers and redcoats including Captain Slappy of Talk Like a Pirate Day, Captain Quicksilver and many more taking part in everything from pirate clashes to tours of tall ships, canon firings, sword fights and a pirate-themed market place. Drawing more than 50,000 visitors to the heart of Oregon's rodeo country each year, the Pendleton Round-Up is one of the largest rodeos in the country. Held in Pendleton since 1910, highlights of the event include bareback riding, saddle bronco riding, calf roping, team roping, steer wrestling, barrel racing, steer roping, brahma bull riding, Indian relay races and wild cow milking.

Mt Angel, Oregon
One of the oldest and best loved community activities in the Mount Angel area, the 4-day Oktoberfest (the largest folk festival in the state) attracts more than 300,000 people each year to Mount Angel, a community founded by German pioneers in 1867. Featuring music, food, dress and beverages of Bavaria, Oktoberfest celebrates German culture and has been a successful attraction for almost 50 years. In fact, more than 600,000 votes were cast in the Statesman Journal’s 2012 search for the Best of the Mid Valley, and this Oktoberfest in Mount Angel earned seven Gold Medals – Best Annual Event, Best Family Attraction, Best Free Activity, Best Place to Dance, Best Live Music, Best Place to Take Out-of-Town Guests and Best Use of Social Media.

One of the largest festivals of its kind, the Annual Greek Festival began more than 50 years ago when the ladies of the Greek community decided to help raise money for the church by holding a bazaar with their handwork, food, pastries, music and dances from their homeland.
Still celebrating the heritage of the Greek immigrants who arrived in the Northwest in the late 1800s, the Annual Greek Festival attracts more than 15,000 guests to share cultural traditions, food, music, and dance.
