KMOT Ag Expo

A popular event for more than four decades, and now one of the main North Dakota US events, the KMOT Ag Expo is the largest indoor agricultural show in the upper Midwest and attracts more than 35,000 visitors every year. Over 360 exhibitors in almost 1,000 booths cover all aspects of agriculture in Western North Dakota including the latest in agricultural technology and equipment as well as livestock displays and informative seminars on all topics in agriculture.

Sports RV and Boat Show
mid March
Minot, North Dakota

Top Boat Shows in the USANorth Dakota's largest sport show, and one of the top annual events in the area attracting over 14,000 visitors each year, the KXMC Sports RV and Boat Show showcases a wide range of recreational equipment, from recreational vehicles and boats to hunting and fishing equipment showcased by experts and exhibitors from Canada and throughout the USA. Other highlights of the event are the exhibits of spas, motorcycles, general home and garden products and even vacation resorts.

Fargo Marathon

Fargo, North Dakota

A wealth of courses/races include the marathon and half marathon, a beautiful loop tour through Fargo and neighboring Moorhead, MN, the Dawson Insurance / Allied Group Marathon Relay where marathon running becomes a team sport, the ever popular 5K Fun Run/Walk with nearly 4,000 participants, and the 1/2 Mile Youth Race.

Medora Musical
May - September
Medora, North Dakota

Billed as the "Greatest Show in the West" the Medora Musical is held in the outdoor splendor of the Burning Hills Amphitheatre in the North Dakota Badlands. Named one of ABA's Top 100 Events for 2008, this western musical variety show is great family entertainment, full of high-energy song and dance routines, yodeling and clog dancing, and a star-spangled, patriotic finale. A portion of the show, recognized as one of the top 15 North Dakota USA events and festival is dedicated to 26th US President, Theodore Roosevelt.

Grand Cities Art Fest
early June
Grand Forks, North Dakota

Hundreds of quality art and craft vendors line both sides of the Red River on the beautiful Greenway. Highlights include a variety of concessions and live musical entertainment featuring more than 130 artists & crafters showcasing a variety of arts from paintings to porcelain and textiles, 30 food vendors offering everything from rib eye steak sandwiches to cotton candy, land live music featuring the likes of the Polish National Alliance Dancers and The North River Ramblers.

McQuade Charity Softball Tournament

Bismarck, North Dakota

The USA's largest charity, one weekend slow pitch softball tournament was founded in 1976. Today the tournament has become one of Bismarck's - if not North Dakota's – largest events. Teams travel from as far away as Washington, California, Colorado, Missouri, Nevada and Michigan, as well as from two Canadian Provinces to take part.

Fort Union Trading Post Rendezvous

Fort Union (25 miles southwest of Williston), North Dakota

A popular event for decades, the Fort Union Trading Post Rendezvous brings back to life the days of fur trading posts on the Northern Plains with an encampment of traders, craftsmen and Native Americans re-enacting 19th century skills like blacksmithing, beaver skinning, brain tanning, bow making and flint knapping. A popular part of the event are the fiddlers and singers collected around campfires at night.

Mandan Rodeo Days Celebration

Downtown Mandan and Dacotah Centennial Park City, North Dakota

Top Rodeos  in the USANamed one of the "Top 100 Events in America" by the North American Bus Tours Association, and also recognised here as one of the Top 20 North Dakota USA events and festival, this annual, three-day PRCA rodeo offers three action-packed professional rodeo performances. Also featured are Art In the Park, concerts, a carnival, dancing, baseball, a pitchfork fondue, 10-K and 5-K road races, a golf tourney, all class reunion and the biggest and best Fourth of July parade and fireworks celebration in the Northern Plains.

Red River Valley Fair

The Red River Valley Fair at the Red River Valley Fairgrounds is a 9-day event featuring the Murphy Brothers Carnival, top name concerts, an Ag Education Center, the Scheels Stage, car racing and enduro race. Also on grounds for all days of the Fair are great family friendly events like the Dueling Pirates Show, Reptile Adventures, Zerebko’s Petting Zoo and 4H exhibits.

North Dakota State Fair

The largest motor sports festival in the Upper Midwest USA, Motor Magic features a variety of events and displays including an historic military vehicle display, classic car show and auction, pedal car auction, dirt track auto racing and drag racing, vendor displays, and a rollover simulator.

NDRA Championship Rodeo Finals
early September
Watford City, North Dakota

A continuously growing event, the NDRA Championship Rodeo Finals features contests in nine standard categories: bareback riding, calf roping, ladies breakaway, saddle bronc, steer wrestling, team roping, ladies barrel racing, senior men’s breakaway, and bull riding. Festivities include fun at the beer garden and the parties in the Dirt Rodeo Dance.

United Tribes International Powwow

Bismarck, North Dakota

top Pow Wow USA eventsThe Powwow is held annually in the Lone Star Arena at United Tribes Technical College, one of the premier Tribal Colleges in the United States, and has become one of the premier cultural events of North Dakota, receiving numerous awards over the years. Representing over 70 tribes, featuring over 1,500 dancers and drummers, and drawing over 20,000 spectators the Powwow has become a must-see event featuring "Champion" dancers and singers from the US and Canada competing for top honors. Big Iron Farm Show

West Fargo, North Dakota

The Big Iron Farm Show connects more than 800 agricultural exhibitors and 70,000 attendees who all come together for one purpose – to advance agriculture. Since the original event in 1980 to showcase the latest in “big iron”, the event has grown each year, from a farm equipment show to a 3-day celebration of rural living-agribusiness, health, innovation and technology.

Norsk Høstfest

East Minot, North Dakota

A tradition for over 30 years, the annual Norsk Høstfest, North America’s largest Scandinavian festival, takes place at the North Dakota State Fairgrounds in east Minot. Norsk Høstfest celebrates the heritage and culture of the five Nordic countries with entertainment and Nordic food (from family booths to gourmet restaurants) clothes, art and jewelry. More than 200 internationally recognized artisans, craftsmen and chefs participate.

Dickens Village Festival

Garrison, North Dakota

Attracting visitors from all over North Dakota, eastern Montana and southern Canada, Garrison’s Dickens Village Festival is a family event that transforms the whole town of Garrison into a quaint Dickensian, Victorian town, earning this location recognition as the official Christmas Capitol of North Dakota. Fun parts of the event include street vendors reflecting Dickensian times, horsedrawn carriages, a live performance of Charles Dickens' Christmas Carol, a lighted parade, craft show, entertainment each afternoon and evening and more.
