New York St Patrick’s Day Parade

New York International Auto Show

Washington Square Outdoor Art Exhibit

Taking place over two weekends at Memorial Day time and two weekends over Labor Day time, the Washington Square Outdoor Art Exhibit has grown since it began more than 80 years ago to become a huge event featuring the work and talents of over 150 artists including painters, sculptors, jewelers and glassblowers.

NYC Pride March
Fifth Avenue – New York, New York
One of the main New York City Area US events culminates the week of Gay Pride, celebrating the freedom and rights of the gay community achieved since the Stonewall Riots of 1969 with lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered events. New York City completes the week of celebrations with the famous NYC Pride March down Fifth Avenue with more than a million spectators lining the route. This event is recognized as one of the world’s best Gay Pride celebrations.

Museum Mile Festival
New York, New York
More than 50,000 people take advantage of this 3-hour event that closes the 23-mile stretch of Fifth Avenue and offers free access to many of New York’s major art institutions, including the Guggenheim, the Met and the Museum of the City of New York. Fun of the event includes musical performances, including popular and well respected New York string quartets and jazz ensembles.

Macy’s Firework Spectacular
New York, New York
A popular event for more than 35 years, and one of the main New York City Area US events, the Macy’s Firework Spectacular celebrating the 4th July attracts more than 2-million people each year with some of the world’s largest firework displays set off by four barges stationed between 23rd and 42nd Streets in the East River. There are electric set pieces on the barges, and the New York Fire Department joins in with fire boats shooting red, clear, and blue water 300 feet over the river.

Attracting 40,000 amused and fascinated revelers in person and nearly 2-million viewers on television, Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest, a fun attraction for almost one hundred years, is now known as the “granddaddy of all pig-out contests”. Professionals compete gorging on as many hot dogs as they can in ten minutes. The current record is 68 hotdogs in ten minutes.

Harlem – New York, New York
Actually lasting over a month rather than a week, Harlem Week, capturing the history and culture of this vibrant neighborhood, began over 40 years ago and now features everything from various performances, fashion displays, port events, films of every topic, and the main event which is the two-day street fair on the third weekend of August, featuring even more live music, art, activities for children and educational booths.

Village Halloween Parade
6th Avenue – New York, New York

Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade

Starting in 1924 as Macy’s Christmas Parade with animals from the Central Park Zoo, this popular event now attracts more than 2.5-million people and another 44-million tune in to watch the balloons, floats, bands and celebrities in the most spectacular Thanksgiving holiday celebration in the world. The three hour parade trails from 77th Street down Central Park West to Columbus Circle, then down Broadway to Herald Square.
