Cowboy Days

National Fiery Foods and Barbecue Show

One of the main Albuquerque and South New Mexico US event, a popular event for a quarter of a century, attracting more than 15,000 visitors every year, the National Fiery Foods & Barbecue Show is said to be the largest and most visited show in the world featuring spicy foods and barbecues. More than 250 booths offer thousands of chili pepper related products, including everything from food itself to books, about food and chilis, and even clothing.

Gathering of Nations 
late April
Albuquerque, New Mexico

top Pow Wow USA eventsOne of the main Albuquerque and South New Mexico US events, North America’s biggest Pow Wow recognized as THE pow wow, the Gathering of Nations at the University of New Mexico basketball arena begins with the Grand Entry, a parade of dancing and drumming with members of more than 500 tribes, all in full, traditional costumes. The event carries on with more dancing and drumming and musical performances by American Indian musicians, and even the very popular Miss Indian World pageant.

Festival Flamenco Internacional de Alburquerque

UFO Festival
July 4th Weekend

Old Town Salsa Fiesta

Whole Enchilada Fiesta

Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta

The Festival of the Cranes

Celebrating the return of the cranes, this popular festival focuses on the work of the world-famous Bosque del Apache National Wildlife Refuge. Albuquerque River of Lights

Albuquerque, New Mexico

A continuously growing event at the Botanic Gardens, the Albuquerque River of Lights has been a popular event for more than 15 years. Complete with sculptures of lights of everything from gigantic dinosaurs to dancing snowmen, more than 150 displays include those that are animated and some in 3D. Other features of this event include live Christmas music presented by local choirs and access to hot food and drink.

Gildan New Mexico Bowl
late December
Albuquerque, New Mexico

Since its inception in 2006, the New Mexico Bowl has been played on the Saturday afternoon before Christmas at University Stadium on the University of New Mexico campus. The contest has pitted the Mountain West Conference against the Pac-12 Conference in the state's only annually nationally televised sporting event.
