Barnum Festival Parade

A popular event for more than 60 years, the annual Barnum Festival Parade features the Champions on Parade, complete with floats, marching bands, and even clowns, a Children’s Wing Ding Parade, a drum corps competition, the Great Street Parade and concludes with the fireworks display, considered to be one of the largest in the region.

Riverfest 4th July Celebration
A huge and popular event for more than 30 years, the annual Hartford Riverfest is a multi-venue 4th July celebration featuring events throughout the day in a network of parks on both sides of the river. Attracting more then 10,000 artists, collectors and visitors from across the USA, the Craft Expo is one of the state’s oldest and finest outdoor juried shows. Similar events have been taking place in Deep River for over 120 years. Antique & Classic Boat Rendezvous
An award competition celebrating high-quality antique vessels built before 1965, including cruisers, sailboats, runabouts, and launches, recognizing excellence in restoration, authenticity and workmanship. More than 50 classic vessels gather along The Museum of America and the Sea’s waterfront all day Saturday and Sunday morning. Festivities conclude on Sunday afternoon as the vessels make their way down the Mystic River in a jubilant, costume- and music-filled three-mile parade.

Dragon Boat and Asian Festival

Litchfield Jazz Festival
Going strong for 15 years, the Litchfield Jazz Festival in the Goshen Fairgrounds offering jazz music “in the tent” as well as outdoors on the lawn features an opening night gala followed by three days of jazz, performances by students from the Litchfield Jazz Camp, a juried craft show with a “kid’s corner”, a specific tent called the “Artist Talk Tent” for artist appearances and interviews and plenty of food stalls to complete the experience and the fun.

Milford Oyster Festival
Started more than 34 years ago, the Milford Oyster Festival is held on the third Saturday of August every year and attracts local residents and visitors from around the globe who want to enjoy the sights, sounds, tastes and history of Milford, Connecticut, otherwise known as the Constitution State, at a family-oriented festival and to celebrate the Long Island Sound’s seafaring past. A popular event for 15 years, the Antique Vehicle Show in Mystic showcases more than 100 authentic pre-1930 cars, trucks, and motorcycles and concludes with the Grand Parade of Vehicles in which these old vehicles parade around the Village Green. Various extra events include all sorts of things to do with sea vessels as well as motor vehicles, from wooden whale ships to steamboats. Many more events of the two days include marine art exhibitions, music and even a haunted ships experience called Sights & Frights.
