Jerusalem Ridge brings together bluegrass music lovers from around the world to perform and honor the memory of Bill Monroe, the Father of Bluegrass Music. The grounds are packed with more than 40 top bluegrass and old-time bands performing over the four-day celebration.
The entire event is held on Jerusalem Ridge which is the Monroe family home place just outside the small town of Rosine.
The five-room wooden structure has been painstakingly restored to its 1918 glory and now is filled with family heirlooms and mementos from Monroe’s illustrious 70-year musical career. This place is the inspiration for many of Bill Monroe’s songs and music that firmly established his legacy as the Father of Bluegrass Music. They say this is Where the Spirit Touches the Soul and when you attend the Jerusalem Ridge Festival “you will be touched by the spirit of music and the people”.
During the festival there are workshops and free self-guided tours of Monroe’s childhood home. For those planning on attending several days of entertainment, camping is also available in the area.
